Christmas 2011

We had a great Christmas this year with all our family! It is growing so big, I definately need a new and bigger kitchen here soon!… But it was especially fun because of Dylan….at 5 he is the sweetest thing! He is so into Santa this year and on Christmas Eve Harry and I went down about 2:30 and along with Mike we hung gumdrops, cookies and candy canes from his ceiling! He was so excited in telling us about what Santa had done that it just made it perfect! He is perfect!

Field Trip!!

Well I went on my grandson Dylan’s kindergarten field trip yesterday to Camden Aquarium! It was a lot of fun! It was really funny to see how this perfect child transforms into a normal 5 year old when he is with all his friends! They were so cute yet naughty at the same time! Lol

Del Bay Hunt Test

Yesterday I went to marshall Del Bay’s fall hunt test! It was an absolute beautiful day and I loved watching all the dog work!! It was extra special seeing everyone down there with their dogs……just the place to be on sunshiny bright fall days…out with your dogs!!

Blog!!!

My aunt is coming home tomorrow on hospice and will spend the rest of her days at her sister’s house!! Very sad, but so understandable as she has just been struggling for so long and is now tired!! Whom ever reads this please pray for her for a speedy time for her!!!

Sorry everyone, I haven’t been blogging lately…just going thru a sad and hard time with our beloved aunt who has been so sick! Also struggling along with my little Steve Singleton pup who’s been very sick!

Soon as they both get back on the right track, I will be blogging!! Thanks for understanding!!

Christmas Tree Shopping!!

Every year we head out as a family and all get our Christmas trees!! This year Mike, Kristen and Dylan couldn’t make it, and Murphy didn’t want to go if Dylan wasn’t going…bummer…..

But we had a blast with Melissa, Anthony and Jim!! He is absolutely the funniest dog in the entire world..he is so beautiful, majestic and friendly to all people and other dogs!! BUT……he is just so bad you have to laugh at him!! If he couldn’t play with all the other dogs there he would howl, and if you know coonhounds you know everyone can hear him from six miles away!! Soon as he would start, everyone would stop and find us to see what that horrendous noise was!! They would all laugh and pet and play with him! He was the hit at the tree farm!!

Tip For the Month – 11/10

With hunting season here, most people don’t get time to train and their extra time is spent to hunt! That’s great, but that is also a time when our dogs tend to develop faults.

Just a little hint, while you are watching tv, or maybe eating put your dog in a sit position every once in awhile so you are still maintaining a small training scenario while doing something you normally do! Always make him sit before you go out the door and you go first and then call him thru. Make him sit again when he’s thru.

There are many little things you can do like that to keep that balance of “being in charge” while the main reason for training “hunting season” is upon us!!
